We believe no one should face
their hardest moments alone

Not the moments that are easy to name. Not the big dramatic turning points. The quiet ones — when a goal feels too far, a challenge too unclear, and the path forward completely invisible.

Those moments deserve more than a blank page.

calmness of the mind and emotions;

tranquility

How it all began.

It was 2023. Both of us were deep in the kind of life that feels full on paper — demanding jobs, long hours, meaningful projects. But somewhere in the middle of all of it, our own goals had quietly moved to the back of the queue.

The goals were there. They always are. But sitting down to actually start — to think clearly, to map out a path, to ask ourselves the right questions — felt like one effort too many at the end of an already full day.

Where do you even begin? What should you consider first? Are you actually ready for this?

And then there was something else. Something harder to name. Working toward something difficult entirely on your own — without guidance, without a companion — is lonely in a way most people don't admit. We do our best work alongside others. We think more clearly when something holds our hand through the hard parts.

But that kind of support is rarely just there when you need it.

Carola had been a dedicated journaler for years. With a background in international HR and mindset coaching, she understood both the psychology of change and the gap between wanting to move forward and actually doing it. So she began building something to close that gap — a journal that wouldn't just offer blank pages, but a structure, a story, a set of coaching tools and reflective exercises that could genuinely accompany someone through a challenge.

Over the months that followed, the journal took shape. Basil brought his eye to the practical side — the formalities, the purchasing, the pieces that turn an idea into something real you can hold in your hands.

Together, Ataraxia Journals was born.

Not from a business plan. From a feeling we recognised in ourselves — and suspected we weren't alone in.

You don't have to face it alone. That's the whole idea.

About Us

Ataraxia Journals is the project of these two dreamers with one shared goal: to offer guidance and companionship to people navigating their challenges. We believe self-development is fundamental to mental health — and that it should be accessible to everyone. So we built something we couldn't find anywhere else.

Why Ataraxia?

Ataraxia is an ancient Greek concept — a state of calm, freedom from anxiety and mental distress.

Not the absence of challenge, but the presence of clarity and peace within it. It's what we want for every person who opens one of our journals. Not perfection. Not pressure.  Just the quiet confidence that you know where you're going — and that you're not going alone.

Where it came from?

Ataraxia Journals was born from a simple observation: most people who want to grow, change, or achieve something meaningful don't lack the desire — they lack a companion for the journey.

Blank journals ask too much. Generic planners miss the human side. Coaches, as valuable as they are, aren't always accessible or affordable.

We built something in between.

Our Conviction

We believe self-development isn't a luxury. It's one of the most honest things a person can do for their mental health — and it should never feel out of reach.

Not behind a waiting list. Not dependent on the right therapist, the right coach, or the right moment. Available to anyone willing to show up for themselves, one page at a time.

That belief is what shaped everything about how we build our journals.

Each one is crafted around a unique structure — a storyline that gives you a path to follow, visualisation exercises that help you see beyond where you are now, coaching tools that ask more of you than a blank page ever would, and reflective prompts that guide you gently inward. Not to overwhelm. To illuminate.

Because we've found that what most people lack isn't the desire to grow — it's the clarity of knowing where to start, and the companionship to keep going once they do.

Ataraxia Journals exists to offer both.
